A much needed update on the 5K!!
My little brother came down for a almost two weeks. He is in the marines and we only get to see him every once in a great while. I was so very busy the week he came down, so we were only able to see each other a few times. I guess getting the chance to see him was what counted. I just wish I could have spent ALOT more time doing thing's with him. He did spend time with Bryce though. They are great buddies! Bryce is always looking at the pictures I have of him on the wall and informing me that that is his Uncle Austin up there! Right now he is on tour and won't be back until January if ALL goes well... I wish him and his platoon a VERY safe, healthy, and fast trip home!
I had to help my mother in law with the San Juan County Fair. I have been helping her for five years now and I love it. We are hoping that with all that she is teaching me I can one day be on the fair board when my kids are old enough to participate. I also had Bryce's second birthday party which turned out GREAT!! I found a cute little Tonka Truck party set, and there it was... A Truck Party!!! I really didn't want to spend $30.00 on a cake so I did some investigating and this is what the out come was.....
This is Bryce 12 days before he turned 6months old
(This is the only picture I have of Bryce when he was a little guy saved on my new computer...Thank goodness I had one!)
Thursday the 8th of October I broke down and bought them formula and I am now switching back and forth between feedings. I will nurse one while the other is enjoying a bottle. Then the at the next feeding I will nurse the baby that had a bottle the previous feeding and bottle feed the baby that nursed! It is working out great and oh my goodness I have a house full of HAPPY kids. The babies are not as fussy because they are actually getting fed, and Bryce is much happier because I am not always feeding on the couch!! It's nice! The twins had their 6 month appointments the Monday after I bought the formula and thank goodness I started them on formula because they hadn't grown that much :-(
September...
It has been so long since September I can't remember anything we did in September. That is sad huh....We went camping on Daniel's aunt's house boat! We sure did have a blast. Bryce LOVES the water and is not at all scared of it....Which is a scary thing! I like that he enjoys the water because Daniel and I love it as well, but he would just jump right in by himself if he had the chance. My Aunt and Granny were very sick and were both hospitalized. My granny pulled ligaments in her legs and had several blood clots. My Aunt Dorothy's vocal cords were paralyzed which landed her in the hospital with emergency surgery for a tracheotomy. She still has it in and we are praying everyday that she will have it removed soon. Daniel and I celebrated our four year wedding anniversary on September 17!! We have not gone out to do anything yet :-( Maybe we will soon! The twins are still nursed so leaving to go somewhere would not be an option. All we would be able to do is head to Circle S to check out all the stuff they DON'T have. Head back home and BOOM it's time to feed again.
October...
Daniel, Daniel, Daniel...What can I say besides CRAZY!!! He and his friends are ALWAYS looking for fun and new things to do with their ATVs. Several years ago Daniel's dad cleaned out the pond that we have out here. The boy's had made a whole bunch of jump out of the extra dirt, for both Dirt bikes and BMX bike's. They soon got old and there were a select few that they still use. So mostly they just go on a "Ride" out behind our house which is BLM land and it goes on and on forever. Well they have decided that it is now time for some new jumps!!! Can you believe that junk??? New jumps? What for? In case they have all FORGOT 99% of our friends that ride have kids, therefore what in the heck is the point of killing yourself on a 100 feet tall jump. They seem like a hundred feet anyways. I wouldn't have jumped the old ones and DEFINITELY wouldn't jump the new ones if you flashed money under my nose. So two weeks ago a friend of ours brought out a front end loader, and before I knew it they had a "double" that is 40 feet apart or something like that. The second one it 60. Yeah you didn't read it wrong, really it's 60 feet long meaning you won't hit the landing for a LOOOOOOOOOOOONG time! We have already had a friend shatter his shoulder. He went to the ER go get x-ray's and the doctors found a growth of some sort on his hip which had NO relation to the dirt bike accident. I guess it was a blessing since he will have to have surgery to remove the growth and have it sent out to get a biopsy on it. So back to the jumps...They also made a jump in front of the hill we call the "pond" hill. This means they hit the jump in front of the hill to see if they can make it in top!!! Craziness I know. All the boy's were hitting this jump and Daniel's brother Rob decided to use Daniel's dirt bike, because it is newer than his and lighter I guess. Well they jumped all day long and at the VERY end of the day this is what happened to Rob on Dan's bike...
Needless to say he broke Daniel's back and one side fender and has a beautiful skid mark on his bottom! I love that Daniel enjoys riding dirt bike's and taking Bryce on adventurous 4-wheeler rides, but jumping is a little scary. Tiffiny, Madella, and I are always crossing our fingers!
This month is HALLOWEEN and I am sooooo excited. The first of the month we decided to go to Napa and pick a few pumpkin's for the kids. We got up to section 2 were the pumpkin patch was, Daniel driving. He started to pull into the office for directions and I said oh NO we can find it so keep going. I probably don't need to tell you that an hour later with screaming kids in the car, we didn't find it! So we turned around to stop at the office. I was a little turned around myself because I thought the office was in the other direction than we were going. Daniel insisted that we were headed the right way...we were! I was wrong AGAIN!!! So we stopped at the little scary old office to ask how in the world to get there and I guess it had been a bad day for the office crew too. We talked to an old man that was a bit of a rude ASS if I had to put it in a nice way! He told us they were not opening the patch to the public until the 18th!! The 18th was two weeks away. I really didn't want to wait that long, so we went to Sutherland Farms instead! Good thing we did because Bryce had a BLAST! There were all sorts of thing to do there. ..We all played in the corn box. I guess that's what you would call a sand box minus the sand and filled with corn. We went through the corn maize, which was really short but with Bryce's little legs it ended up being pretty darn Loooooooong! We rode the Hay Ride to the pumpkin patch and bought 3 pumpkin's that I guess were VERY special to the Sutherland Family because we spent a fortune on them. Then it was time to turn in for the day, we had three very tired kids! Bryce is going to be Cat in the Hat and I am in the process of making Thing 1 and Thing 2 costumes for the babies. I will keep you updated on current events I promise. I am going to post a collage of pictures from the last three months since there is alot of catching up to do!
OK SO I MADE THIS COLLEGE WAY TO BIG AND NOW YOU CAN'T SEE A DARN THING!!! Questions?!
Oh my lordy, so I have had my niece Lizzy staying with me since Sunday and she is a question machine. I guess it has been a really long time since I have been around a six year old for an extended period of time because I have totally forgotten about ALL the 10,000 questions they ask in a day. Now Bryce's new question that has been his question for several months has been "What's That?" Well that is the easiest question in the world all you have to do is have a one word answer!! Lizzy asks me, "how are babies born"????
Um ask your mommy that question OK babe!
Why don't you know you have three babies??!!
Well my babies came out through my belly!
They just popped out?
Yeah something like that!!!
I have an Ostrich egg that I have had for years that was a gift to me from one of my bff's grandparents. She wanted to know how they got the Ostrich that is supposed to be the BIGGEST bird in the world out of the egg without it cracking?
So I replied, Before the bird starts to become a bird it is a big yellow yoke like a chicken egg in the fridge. So they drilled that hole in the bottom and drained the yoke out.
She said,"What do you mean it is yellow?" The picture of the ostrich you should me was black!
Well it was just a yoke because the bird hadn't developed yet remember!
How did you know it hadn't developed yet?
Because the mommy had just layed the egg and it takes a few days for it to start becoming a bird.
Where does the mommy get the egg?
I said, "through her belly"!!! lol I had no idea what to tell her she is only six and I didn't want to traumatize her!
Well then we were headed to Durango and she and Bryce were looking for cows and horses out the window and we came upon a horse with a colt. She first asked if we could take the horse home.
I told her that that horse belonged to someone.
She said, "Does the horse have an egg we can take?"
No horses have their babies grow in their tummy like humans do!
How do they get the babies out? Does someone cut it out of their tummy?
Well they call a veterinarian to come and get the baby out and I have NO idea how, you have to be a vet to know how they do it.
So once in Durango we were in the waiting room of the hospital waiting for word on my aunt that had just had surgery. Lizzy was looking through a magazine and came a across a beautiful wedding dress and informed me that one day when she had enough money she was going to buy herself that dress. I told her so you can get married in it and she said, "No way, I'm not ever going to get married". "Why not Lizzy", I relied. She said "because I don't EVER want my tummy cut open, that would hurt"!!! Bless her heart I have traumatized her. I had no idea what to tell her and she is not my kid so I also have no idea what her mom and dad would want me to say when faced with questions like these! I do know one thing at least she knows that you aren't suppose to have babies until your married!!!
